Making Dog Treats for Holidays


Instead of buying store bought treats you are able to make dog treats from home at a lower price. When you buy dog treats from the store ,there are ingredients that you do not know taht even present but with homemade treats you are putting all the ingredients in them and know everything your pet is getting. Here some ideas for good holiday dog treast dog and these are cheap treats you can make yourself.

Christmas Mint Cookies Ingredients:

1 ½ Cup Flour

1 ½ Cup Pancake mixing

½ Cup of Mint

¼ Cup Milk

4 Tablespoon Margarine

1 Egg

1 ½ Teaspoon Corn Syrup

1. Mix all ingredients together.
2. Roll out the dough.
3. Cut out the shapes of the cookies that you desire.
4. Put them on a pre oiled cookie sheet.
5. Bake for twenty minutes at 375 degrees.
6. Let cool.


Pumpkin Seed Cookies Ingredients:

2 Cups Flour

¼ Cup Cornmeal

½ Cup Soy Flour

1 teaspoon Bone Meal

1 teaspoon Salt

¼ Cup Pumpkin

2 Tablespoons Canola Oil

¼ Cup Molasses

2 Eggs

¼ Cup Milk


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees or around to that.
2. Mix all the dry ingredients until smooth.
3. Mix the eggs and milk.
4. Add the oil, molasses, and al.
5. 1 T of the egg/milk mixture.
6. Knead the dough.
7. Roll the dough out to ½ inch.
8. Cut shapes in the dough to the shape desired.
9. Place cookies on cookie sheet.
10. Bake for thirty minutes.


Puppy Dog Eggnog Ingredients:

1 Cup Yogurt

1 Jar baby food

1 Evaporated milk

1 Egg

1 ½ Cup Water


1. Combine all ingredients with a whisk.
2. Pour mixture into dog's cup.
3. Refrigerate left-over mixture.


Beefy Birthday Cake Ingredients:

1 ½ Cup Flour

1 ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder

½ Cup Butter

½ Cup Veg. Oil

1 Jar Beef

4Eggs

1 Yogurt

2 strips Beef Jerky

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
2. Grease and flour loaf pan.
3. Cream the butter until it is smooth.
4. Add the corn oil, baby food, and eggs.
5. Mix until smooth.
6. Mix dry ingredients with beef.
7. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
8. Bake the cake for one hour and ten minutes.
9. Allow the beefy birthday cake to cool for 15 minutes.
10. Use yogurt for icing.
11. Refrigerate


Make sure you have in an air sealed container so you are able to keep them for up to a week.

Types of Arthritis in Pets

Not only people have to live with arthritis so do pets. There are several reasons why pets get arthritis. Signs and symptoms usually show up in dogs around 6 years. Knowing the type and understanding it can help you treat the animal and help it live a better life.

Trauma caused dog joint pain

1. Traumatic Arthritis: Common after joint injuries.
2. Hip Dysplasia: Can result from injuries as well as be caused by infections.
3. Hypertrophic Arthritis: Caused by bone spurs.
4. Knee Stifle: This is a type of arthritis arising from torn ligaments.
5. Acute Traumatic Arthritis: A condition caused from injury.

These are all conditions caused by a traumatic situation in the dog’s life.

Arthritis from Infections

There are several forms of infections that can cause a dog to get arthritis. Infectious Arthritis is caused by infection in the area of the joints. With this condition the dog will need medicine to get rid of the infection before the arthritis can be treated.

Self Bodily Attacks Arthritis

The animal’s body attacking itself can also cause arthritis. This is where the animals own immune system will attack itself and cause joint problems.

Degenerative Pet Arthritis

Osteochondrosis and Osteoarthritis both are progressive conditions that can cause arthritis in animals. Ninety percent of arthritis is due to Osteoarthritis.

If your animal has one of these conditions it is very important to understand and know how to treat the problem. By knowing it you are giving your animal a better chance at a healthier and longer life. If persistent problems happen you should take your animal to the vet and have it properly checked to see if something different is needed to help your pet to get better. By doing this you care giving proper care and love to your pet.
